It’s been a while since I’ve sat down to journal. Life has just been... life! Chaotic, full, and sometimes overwhelming, but here I am trying to carve out this little pocket of time to empty my head and reflect.
Today holds a special place in my heart—it’s a date that will always stick with me. Three years ago, I experienced a miscarriage, a loss that will forever stay with me. Though our time together was brief, that little one existed to me, and they always will.
But through that loss came an incredible blessing—Octavia. My beautiful, feral little mini-me who was truly meant to roam this earth. I’ll never take for granted how lucky I am to have two healthy, wonderful children. I carry the memory of the one who didn’t get to be, but I find peace and gratitude in the family I have now.
On the work front, things have been up and down as I step into my new role with added responsibilities. It’s exciting but also challenging as I try to set boundaries and not bring work home with me—something that doesn’t come naturally to me. But hey, I’m a work in progress, right?
And then there’s the festive season, which is my absolute favorite time of year. In less than two weeks, it’s the Newport Pagnell Christmas Lights Switch-On, and I cannot wait! It’s such a special day for me, seeing all the behind-the-scenes hard work come to life. Watching those mesmerized faces as the lights sparkle into action makes every late night, every bit of stress, so worth it.
Takeaway: Life may be chaotic and full of ups and downs, but moments of reflection help me hold onto gratitude. Whether it’s honoring the past, cherishing the present, or looking forward to the future, there’s always something magical to hold onto.
