Catching Up After the Storm

Okay, so… I haven’t journaled since last November. Oops. Life clearly had other plans for me—and wow, what a whirlwind it’s been! Somehow, we’ve landed in April, Easter is nearly here, and it feels like we’ve lived a whole other year in just a few months.

Let’s do a little life update, shall we?

Work is still a big part of the chaos. I’m now properly in the thick of my new role, and while it’s still a huge learning curve, I’m managing. Some days feel like I’ve nailed it, other days not so much—but I guess that’s just part of the process. Warren’s more settled into his job now too, which helps, even though he’s also learning as he goes.

The biggest shift has definitely been Octavia starting pre-school in January! She's absolutely flying—she's full of confidence and curiosity, and watching her little personality grow is the best. She’s even started potty training the last couple of days! It’s messy and a little stressful, but I can’t believe how well she’s doing already.

Xavier’s back at cricket and thriving, which makes my heart so happy. He’s had such a good school report recently too—especially when it comes to managing his emotions and reading. It feels like we’ve turned a real corner with him, and I’m bursting with pride at how much he’s grown.

And now for the newest addition to our chaos—Stitch, our 9-week-old sprocker puppy! He’s slotted into our family so quickly, and it honestly feels like he’s always been here. We’ve still got some house training hurdles and the occasional land shark moment to navigate, but hey, he’s a baby! He’s already brought so much love and joy into our home (even if sleep has once again become a distant memory 😅).

Takeaway: Life might be messy, noisy, and ever-changing—but it’s also full of magic in the most unexpected places. From puppy cuddles to potty milestones and everything in between, I’m trying to soak it all in and appreciate this wild ride.
